Once you try my Boursin cheese pasta recipe, it’ll become a staple for busy weeknights! It features al dente pasta with cherry tomatoes, creamy Boursin cheese, and fresh basil. It’s ready in under 30 minutes.

In my house, we have pasta at least once or twice a week because it’s easy, versatile, and you can’t really mess it up…especially when there’s cheese involved.
Officially a TikTok recipe, I’ll admit I was hesitant to make the viral Boursin pasta recipe at first. But after one bite, I was officially hooked.
What is Boursin cheese?
Boursin is a brand of French Gournay cheese (like all good cheeses, right?). It is a creamy, crumbly cheese with a texture akin to cream cheese. It comes in various flavors, and recently, it’s been paired with cherry tomatoes and pasta to make a creamy sauce.Table of Contents

Why I love this recipe
- Easy. With minimal prep time and no complicated techniques, this recipe is beginner-friendly.
- Make ahead. Boursin pasta makes for delicious leftovers. I highly suggest making a double batch so you can save it throughout the week.
- Quick and delicious. You’ll be surprised at the depth of flavor you can achieve with such a speedy recipe (under 30 minutes!).
- Fancy yet simple. Guests will think you went above and beyond, but only you will know just how low-effort it was.

Ingredients needed
- Boursin cheese. I prefer the garlic and herbs Boursin cheese, but you can buy whichever flavor you prefer.
- Cherry tomatoes. For sweetness, flavor, and color. I bought a mixed container with red, yellow, and orange tomatoes.
- Extra virgin olive oil. To roast the tomatoes and garlic.
- Garlic. Use freshly minced garlic cloves. If you don’t have fresh garlic, substitute it with garlic powder.
- Red pepper flakes. For the heat.
- Pasta. I love using farfalle, penne, rigatoni, shell, or fusilli for this recipe.
- Salt and black pepper. To taste.
- Pasta cooking water. Reserve some water before draining your pasta to adjust the consistency of the sauce.
- Parmesan. Buy a wedge of aged parmesan cheese for maximum flavor.
- Basil leaves. For garnish. Fresh parsley also works.
How to make Boursin cheese pasta
I’ve included step-by-step photos below to make this recipe easy to follow at home. For the full printable recipe instructions and ingredient quantities, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Step 1- Assemble. Arrange the tomatoes in an even layer in a baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and garlic. Place the Boursin cheese on top.

Step 2- Bake for 20 minutes.

Step 3- Make the pasta (while the sauce bakes). Set a pot of water over medium high heat and boil the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain the pasta and reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking water.

Step 4- Combine. Remove the baking dish from the oven and stir the tomatoes and cheese together. Add the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water and toss to combine. Fold in the parmesan cheese and basil.
Arman’s recipe tips
- Add the water a little at a time. Just until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Make a smooth sauce. For a silky smooth sauce, blend the baked cheese and tomato mixture with pasta water before folding in the pasta.
- Make it vegan. Believe it or not, Boursin now offers a vegan version! Use this and swap the parmesan for nutritional yeast.
- Or gluten-free. Use gluten-free pasta noodles.
- Use different cheese. The original TikTok pasta was made using Feta cheese instead of Boursin, so give that a try!
- Add more veggies. You can add olives, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, peas, or broccoli.
What to serve with this recipe

- Protein. Sous vide chicken breast, round steak, pan-seared salmon, or sautéed shrimp
- Side salad. Wedge salad, Caesar salad with chicken, or spinach salad with warm bacon dressing
- Bread. Air fryer garlic bread, 2-ingredient biscuits, or 2-ingredient bread

Frequently asked questions
Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes, if you’d like to prep this in advance, make the pasta and cheese sauce as instructed. Fold the two together, then store it, covered in the fridge for 1-2 days. Let it come to room temperature for 15 minutes before baking until warm.
What flavor of Boursin should I use to make pasta sauce?
I prefer either the plain or garlic and herb flavor, but any of them will be fine.
